Shredders Roll to 9-2 Win Over Bullets
|
The Hollywood Shredders defeated the Baltimore Bullets, 9-2, at Baltimore Grounds. Hollywood center fielder John Yossarian was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Tony Alfonso got the win, improving to 13-4. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 2. The Shredders own a robust 56-32 mark.
Yossarian came through with some timely hitting for Hollywood. With the score 0-0 in the top of the second and no one down, Yossarian hit a 2-1 cutter for a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season made it 2-0, Hollywood.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Hollywood skipper Bill Cheese.
