Blimps Stay Hot, Beat Ghosts

Goodyear Hanger Dome was the site of a competitive game between the Casper Ghosts and Akron Blimps.
The Casper Ghosts got a superb performance from center fielder Thinley Tshering, but the Akron Blimps still won the game, 5-3. Tshering was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Rob Butler, the winner, improved to 3-9. He held the Ghosts to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 6. Kenny McFadden recorded his 5th save for Akron.
Zacarías Salazar had a big 2-run double for the Blimps in the bottom of the first inning. With Akron leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Otton Asmus and stroked the double to right. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blimps ahead, 3-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Salazar told the Akron News.
The third-place Blimps have won 5 in a row.
