Turbeaus Take Down Krewe, 5-2
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus defeated the Crescent City Krewe, 5-2. Earning player of the game honors was second baseman Raúl Yánez, who went 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Marcos del Pozo got credit for the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 7 innings. Gulf Coast is in 9th place in the Silver AA with a record of 30-40.
Yánez had a game-changing triple in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 cutter from Héctor Sanz, he banged a run-scoring triple to left-center, giving the Turbeaus a 3-2 lead. It was the 6th triple of the year for Yánez.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Yánez.
