The Crescent City Krewe did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Akron Blimps at Field of the Krewe. Nobody did more than pitcher Bhu Damocles, who captured player of the game honors. Damocles picked up the win for Crescent City, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 5-5. Paul Thomas got the save, the 9th for him this season.
Jermaine Vassell, the Crescent City catcher, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 2-0, Krewe. For the game, Vassell was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Damocles said.
Crescent City goes to 29-34, Akron to 33-30.
