Turbeaus Come Up Short at Tacoma
|
Tacoma Fur Traders starter Bill Slaughter was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 4-3. In 7.1 innings, Slaughter surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Luke Fitzgerald got credit for the save for Tacoma. It was his 8th of the year.
The Fur Traders got a lift from first baseman Manuel Acosta who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning off Hugh Hudson. It was his 14th RBI of the season and put Tacoma in front, 4-3.
"I like our mindset right now," said Tacoma manager Elliott Taylor.
The last-place Fur Traders now have a 4-game winning streak.
