Ottawa overcame a superlative game from Costanzo Miniato to beat Gulf Coast, 3-2. The Gulf Coast pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Earning his 4th save of the year was Sam Martínez. Ottawa is now riding a 4-game win streak.
Ottawa used the timely hitting of Arthur Hall to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Nationals on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Ottawa manager Ralph Wood. "It's usually not just one thing."
