Extra-Inning Win by Fur Traders over Guinea Pigs
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders picked up a win at Experimental Stadium, knocking off the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 5-2. Starting pitcher Bill Slaughter, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Fur Traders now have a record of 18-29 with the win over Gwinnett.
Tacoma used a timely hit from Bari bin Sayyid to get the win. The left fielder delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the 11th inning to put the Fur Traders on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Slaughter.
