Nationals Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Ottawa Nationals defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 8-4, at Nationals Park today. Leading the charge for Ottawa was second baseman Dave Curtis. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Arthur Stevenson picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 4-3. The Atoms have now dropped 5 straight.
Curtis had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 curveball from Nicolas Alonso, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Nationals a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Curtis.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Curtis.
