Guinea Pigs Bridle Blimps, 3-1
|
Gwinnett got a first-rate effort from pitcher Darren Henry, who frustrated Akron hitters en route to a 3-1 Guinea Pigs triumph at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Francisco Díaz earned the save for Gwinnett, his 10th of the year. Gwinnett is in second place in the Silver AA with a record of 24-18.
Justin Schock was vital part of the Gwinnett win. He was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the top of the sixth with two out, Schock hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 3-1, in favor of the Guinea Pigs.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Gwinnett manager Enrique Fuentes.
