Crescent City Krewe starter Bhu Damocles was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Virginia Beach Whales, 3-2. In 8 innings, Damocles surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The Krewe bumped their record to 19-18 with this latest triumph.
The Krewe got a big at-bat from third baseman Sergio Vargas. For the game, Vargas was 2-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 16th hit of the season gave Crescent City a 2-0 lead.
"We had a good game plan," Damocles said, "and we were able to execute it."
