Lake Minnetonka Love Boats starter Arturo Pérez pitched a strong game against the Irving Blue Sox at Heron Field, leading the Love Boats to a 2-0 win. Lake Minnetonka is now 39-57, Irving 44-52.

Tied up with the Blue Sox in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Love Boats got a boost from third baseman Jose Asuncion. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Asuncion saw a 2-2 fastball from Jimmy Evans and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Lake Minnetonka on top, 1-0.

"Runs were at a premium," said Lake Minnetonka manager Melvin Baldwin.
