Herrera Slugs Patriots to 12-3 Win
|
The Boston Patriots met little resistance from the Long Island Lighthouse, beating them 12-3 at Dunkin Donuts Park. Jorge Herrera led the way. He hit 3 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 3 for Boston. Brian Duncan earned the win for Boston. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 9-3. The first-place Patriots now have a 5-game winning streak.
Jae-woo Ohm, who led the PL in slugging percentage with .681 last year, aided the Boston cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Ohm told a Boston Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
