Godfathers Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
Pontiac and Niagara Falls got after it at Waterfall Park.

Pontiac catcher Pancho Achio made his presence felt in the 5-1 Godfathers triumph over the Niagara Falls Expos. Achio went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Ed Pearce got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 4.1 innings.

Achio came through with some timely hitting for Pontiac. With the score 2-0 in the top of the fifth and two down, Achio hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run single. His 7th hit of the season made it 4-0, Pontiac.

Achio told a Pontiac Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

The Expos, now 2-5, have been pitiful so far.
