Blue Sox Come Back Late to Top Miners
The Blue Sox had to overcome a fine effort from Marquette pitcher Rob Bates to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Blue Sox Ballpark. Bates went 7 innings and allowed no earned runs. Irving occupies 9th place in the Menard's AA at 37-43.

Irving took a 2-1 lead on Christopher Tracy's 20th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Tracy hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Marquette pitcher Carl Cooper visibly frustrated.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Tracy.
