Saboteurs Beat Blues, 8-4
|
The Toledo Saboteurs defeated the Barton Springs Blues, 8-4, at Toledo Backyard Park. Toledo designated hitter Nathan Bram was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The save went to Phil Stephens, his 3rd this season. With the win, Toledo goes to 33-35, while the Blues fall to 39-29.
Had Bram not come through in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Bram hit a 3-run home run. The Saboteurs never looked back after taking the 7-4 lead.
"We'll savor this win," Bram told the Toledo Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
