Tight Tilt Goes to Blues, 4-3
|
Despite a great performance by Billings center fielder Roberto Guerrero, the Barton Springs Blues defeated the Polar Bears by the score of 4-3 at The Igloo. Guerrero was 4-4 with 2 triples and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Alastair England got credit for the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. Barton Springs bumps their record to 27-23 with the win.
Barton Springs took a 4-1 lead on Shawn Mullins's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Mullins hit in the top of the eighth, left Billings pitcher Darrel Parker visibly frustrated.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Barton Springs manager Alonso Cruz.
