Farmers Get Close Win Over Miners
|
The Marquette Miners got a superb performance from third baseman Chris P. Bacon. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Lancaster. The Farmers won the game, 7-6. In spite of the loss, Bacon was named the player of the game. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Lancaster is in last place in the Menard's AA with a record of 14-26.
António Cruz was the walk-off hero for Lancaster. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Farmers second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Cruz. "And not try to do too much."
