Barton Springs pitcher Earnest Powell did his part in helping his team beat the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 8-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Francisco Esposo closed the door for Barton Springs, picking up his 1st save of the year. The Blues, at 19-19, sit in 7th place in the Menard's AA.

Denny Wolfe aided the Barton Springs cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 5 with a double.

Powell expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
