The Irving Blue Sox bested the Lancaster Farmers by a score of 6-5, with catcher Randy Baker getting the main credit. On the day, Baker was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Sox. The Farmers, now 13-24, have lost 5 straight.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Zak Makepeace came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Lancaster pitcher Manuel Sánchez, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Irving on top, 6-5.
