The Asheville Highlanders topped the Barton Springs Blues by the score of 12-11, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Frank Morris. Morris slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Highlanders. Kamiel Wabeke recorded the save for Asheville, his 6th of the season. The Highlanders saw their win-loss record go to 18-16. At the same time, the Blues fell to 16-18.

Morris contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Asheville in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 7-6, Morris took a fastball from Alastair England and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Highlanders to leap in front, 9-7.
