Rails Raise Rally Flag, Beat Minnesota, 5-4
|
The Rails had to overcome a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Hyeong-ro Park to grab a narrow 5-4 win at Rails Ballpark. Park went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Minnesota has now lost 4 straight.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Richland trailing 4-3, Kazuki Takahashi hit a cutter from Steve Smith to right-center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Rails had a walk-off win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Takahashi told the Richland Gazette.
