Bullets Stumble, Lose to Patriots
|
The Boston Patriots knocked off the Baltimore Bullets, 9-1, at Baltimore Grounds. Juan Andrés Martí, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Boston won. The second baseman went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Peer Slooters picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 5 in 6.1 innings. The Patriots, now 6-2, have been playing some good baseball.
Boston designated hitter Jae-woo Ohm contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the eighth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a bases-clearing double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Patriots ahead, 9-1.
Ohm told a Boston Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
