Squirrel Monkeys Prevail, 8-7, Over Pawnee
|
Pawnee center fielder Igme Padoga had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-7, to Syracuse at The Zoo in Syracuse. Padoga went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Syracuse reliever Dario Zorander picked up the win to move to 3-1. Bill Slaughter suffered the loss. Syracuse leads the Silver AAA by 10 games.
Guillermo Alessandrini hit a run-scoring double off Bill Slaughter in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Squirrel Monkeys in front, 8-7. In addition to the double, Alessandrini had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Alessandrini said.
