Brass Come Back Late to Top Squirrel Monkeys
Despite a great performance by Syracuse second baseman Luis Rodríguez, the Baton Rouge Brass defeated the Squirrel Monkeys by the score of 9-5 at The Zoo in Syracuse. Rodríguez went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was Muoi Hoan's in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Craig Gunter took the loss for Syracuse. The Brass, now 55-40, have won 6 in a row.

Alan Shepherd produced at a critical juncture for Baton Rouge. It happened in the top of the eighth with Dario Zorander on the mound and Baton Rouge leading 6-5. That's when the 23-year old shortstop Shepherd drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Shepherd.
