Highlanders Get Road Win, 9-3
|
The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Toledo Saboteurs, 9-3, at Toledo Backyard Park today. Leading the charge for Asheville was right fielder Amani Marwan. He went 1-1 with 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Claudio Ortega picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 7 in 7 innings. Ramón Rodríguez picked up the save, his 1st.
Marwan went 1 for 1 with 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 against the Saboteurs. With the game tied in the top of the third inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that scored 1 and put Asheville in front, 1-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Marwan.
The Highlanders now have a record of 11-11 with the win over Toledo.
