Javier Sierra left his imprint on the 8-5 Ft. Worth win against the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. Sierra was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Sima Babic picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Matsuta Kikuchi took the loss. Jack Buyse was called on to finish, recording his 9th save.

The result might have been different for Ft. Worth, had it not been for Tim Stinson. The catcher produced a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cattlemen ahead, 6-5. For the game, Stinson had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Cattlemen manager Scott Thompson. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."

Ft. Worth bumps their record to 28-45 with the win.
