Monsters Raise Rally Flag, Beat Kansas, 5-2
|
It was a good time at Timber Hawks Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Kansas Rainbeaus and Monongahela Monsters get after it.
The Monongahela Monsters picked up a win at Timber Hawks Ballpark, knocking off the Kansas Rainbeaus, 5-2. On the mound for Monongahela was left-hander Yasunobu Suisha, who played a pivotal role in the win. At 44-45, the Monsters find themselves in 5th place in the Silver AAA.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Loring Rommel came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Kansas pitcher Costanzo Miniato, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Monongahela on top, 3-2.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Suisha.
