Highlanders Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
Richland got a terrific performance from right fielder Greg Ge, but it wasn't enough to beat the Asheville Highlanders. Asheville won the Rails Ballpark contest, 4-3. Ge was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He hit 2 home runs. The winner was John Boyd, who threw 86 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits. Kamiel Wabeke recorded his 1st save for Asheville.

Asheville used the bat of Wu-ji Hsia to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Highlanders ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Hsia.

The Highlanders are off to a tough start, getting just their 3rd win in 8 games.
