Polar Bears Solve Miners, 6-2
|
The exploits of third baseman Jose Reginalde helped the Billings Polar Bears defeat the Marquette Miners, 6-2. Reginalde went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winner was Tim Shreeve in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Thomas Canó took the loss. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Polar Bears hope to make a postseason run.
Reginalde had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-0 cutter from Thomas Canó, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Polar Bears a 4-1 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Reginalde.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Reginalde said after the game.
