The Lancaster Farmers topped the Asheville Highlanders, 3-2, in M3L Double A action at Asheville Park. The player of the game was Lancaster pitcher Javier Gallardo. Gallardo got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 8 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Gallardo allowed 2 earned runs. Manuel Sánchez earned his 3rd save in 3 tries.
Edwin Hastings had a nice at-bat for the Farmers with no one out in the top of the ninth. With the bases empty, the shortstop drew a walk, which would prove important in the Lancaster win.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Gallardo.
With the win, Lancaster elevates its record to 3-2.
