The Nashville Outlaws beat the Panama City Piranhas, 5-4, at The Tank. Nashville designated hitter Omar Luoa earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jesús Cruz got the win, improving to 8-6. He worked 7 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. With the win, Nashville goes to 42-58, while the Piranhas fall to 52-48.
Luoa had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a full count forkball from Dan Dunn, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Outlaws a 5-4 lead. It was the 113rd hit of the year for Luoa.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Luoa. "Obviously."
