Detroit third baseman Shimei Miura made his presence felt in the 12-0 Elite triumph over the Oakland Oaks. Miura went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Elite improve their record to 44-55 with the win over Oakland.

The Elite grabbed the lead in the top of the fifth. With no one out, Daryl Yandell hit a grand slam home run off Miguel Núñez, putting Detroit in front, 8-0. For Yandell, it was his 10th home run of the season.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
