Leviathan Reel Off Another Win
John Wilkerson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Detroit Elite from losing, 8-4, to the Nova Scotia Leviathan at Detroit Stadium. Wilkerson was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Isaac Gunner, credited with the win, is now 3-2. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 7.1 innings. The Leviathan, now 54-33, have won 9 in a row.

Nova Scotia used the timely hitting of Tom Smythe to capture the win. The center fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Leviathan ahead, 5-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.

Smythe called the triumph "a good team win."
