Victory Pushes Stingers Record to 54-19
|
The Toledo Stingers defeated the Panama City Piranhas, 3-1, in Menard's Third League action at Pacesetter Park, with Toledo pitcher Craig Fitzgerald named player of the game. Fitzgerald went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 9-1. The Stingers improved to a lofty 54-19.
Snow Wang had a big run-scoring single for the Stingers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Toledo leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a forkball from Dylan Grandjean and stroked the single to center. It was his 66th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stingers ahead, 3-1.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Wang said after the game.
