Oaks Lose to Leviathan, 7-3
|
Nova Scotia pitcher Rod Watts did his part in helping his team beat the Oakland Oaks, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Getting the save was Nicolaas Eland, his 2nd. Nova Scotia, at 41-31, sits in third place in the Third League.
Tom Smythe was vital part of the Nova Scotia win. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the second with two out, Smythe hit a bases-clearing double. It made the score 5-2, in favor of the Leviathan.
"We take it day by day here," said Watts, "and today was a good one for us."
