White Walkers Jolt 84s with Late Rally
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at Beyond the Wall today.
With left fielder Dread Roberts leading the charge, the Buffalo White Walkers defeated the Greenville 84s, 7-5, at Beyond the Wall. Roberts, who is tied for 8th in the PL in extra base hits with 30, went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Buffalo reliever Butch Cummings picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Dave Lawson shouldered the loss.
Roberts had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Dave Lawson, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the White Walkers a 7-5 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Roberts.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Roberts said in his postgame press conference.
The White Walkers now have a record of 18-47.
