Stingers Deal Lakers 6-4 Setback
|
Lester Threlfall was instrumental in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Echo Park Lakers. The right fielder went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Toledo Stingers. John Rigsby, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held the Lakers to 1 earned run on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Toledo has an impressive 48-16 record.
The Stingers grabbed the lead in the top of the ninth. With no one out, Pedro Serano hit a 2-run home run off Bungay Osiman, putting Toledo in front, 6-1. For Serano, it was his 11th home run of the season.
