Northern Lions BC Lose to Elite, 6-5
|
Thunder Bay center fielder Takeshi Kovacs was sensational. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Detroit beat the Northern Lions BC, 6-5. Kovacs was named the player of the game despite the loss. Detroit is 6th in the Third League with a record of 29-32.
Jack McCusker aided the Detroit cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll enjoy this win," said McCusker. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
