Northern Virginia pitcher Dusty Fox did his part in helping his team beat the Baltimore Bullets, 6-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7 innings, Fox surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Matsuta Kikuchi converted his 6th save in 9 tries.

Gerrie Bond had a big run-scoring double for the Rainbow Mermaids in the bottom of the third inning. With Northern Virginia leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Robert Smalls and stroked the double to right. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 2-0.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Bond.

Northern Virginia, at 29-34, occupies 6th place in the Premier League.
