Syracuse got a strong outing from Calle Lagerkvist as the Squirrel Monkeys defeated the Hamilton Coyotes, 3-1, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The winning pitcher was Lagerkvist, now 3-1. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 7. Syracuse now has a 5-game win streak.

It could have been a different outcome for Syracuse, had it not been for Bud Randall, the 30-year old center fielder . Randall contributed a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put Syracuse up, 3-0.

"Other than the game," said Randall, "we haven't won anything yet."
