Squirrel Monkeys Win at Forest City, 5-3
|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys picked up a win at League Park, knocking off the Forest City Warriors, 5-3. Starting pitcher Billy Craig, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Fernando Mora was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 17 save opportunities. The Warriors, at 34-42, have lost 5 in a row.
Syracuse used the bat of Raffaello Dichio to get the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Dichio.
