The Charleston Battery topped the Baltimore Bullets, 6-3, in United States Premier League action at Baltimore Grounds. The player of the game was Charleston catcher Uoti Vaijärvi. Charleston now sits in 8th place in the Premier League at 26-34.
Charleston used the timely hitting of Jaime Espinar to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Battery on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Vaijärvi told the Charleston Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
