Dodos Beat Brass in 11
|
Fans who congregated at Brass Field were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Hialeah Dodos stopped the Baton Rouge Brass, 6-4, behind an impressive performance from Asberry Harpending. The 28-year old catcher made life miserable for Baton Rouge pitching. He hit 2 home runs. The Dodos are now 31-41, while the Brass fall to 39-33.
Hialeah used the bat of Woody Maxwell to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Dodos ahead, 6-4. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Harpending.
