The Monongahela Monsters stopped the Baton Rouge Brass, 7-1, behind an impressive performance from George Runnalls. The 23-year old center fielder made life miserable for Baton Rouge pitching. He went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Yasunobu Suisha picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Deron Lewis was tagged with the loss. Monongahela, now 34-31, holds 4th place in the Silver AAA.
Runnalls had a key at-bat for Monongahela early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was his 81st hit of the season and gave Monongahela an early 2-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Runnalls said.
