|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys bested the Kansas Rainbeaus by a score of 8-5, with designated hitter Eddie Sachs getting the main credit. On the day, Sachs was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Squirrel Monkeys. Syracuse reliever Robert Smith picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Annamaya Rakhi was saddled with the loss. Syracuse leads the Silver AAA by 7 games.
Sachs had a game-changing single in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-2 cutter from Annamaya Rakhi, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Squirrel Monkeys a 6-5 lead. It was the 13th hit of the year for Sachs.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Sachs told the Syracuse Citizen.
