Warriors Lose, 2-1, at Timber Hawks Ballpark
|
The Forest City Warriors wasted an inspired, 8-inning effort from starter Odmar van Hees, falling 2-1 to the Monongahela Monsters at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Gabriel Durango, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 2-3. Monongahela occupies 4th place in the Silver AAA at 31-27.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Adam Smith drew a walk. The Monsters went on to win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Smith. "And not try to do too much."
