Cattlemen Get Road Win, 4-2
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen picked up a win at Beyond the Wall, knocking off the Buffalo White Walkers, 4-2. On the mound for Ft. Worth was left-hander Gustavo Tobías, who played a pivotal role in the win. Tobías, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 2 earned runs. Jack Buyse recorded his 3rd save for Ft. Worth.
Ft. Worth needed the clutch hitting of Jur Prokop to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Cattlemen on top, 2-0. For the game, Prokop had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Tobías.
The Cattlemen, now 4-2, have been on a roll in the early going.
