Coyotes Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus Kansas
|
The Hamilton Coyotes bested the Kansas Rainbeaus by a score of 8-3, with catcher Gary Goodwin getting the main credit. On the day, Goodwin was 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Coyotes. Freddy Campos earned the win for Hamilton. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 5-4. Hamilton is 9th in the Silver AAA with a record of 23-33.
Goodwin contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Hamilton in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-1, Goodwin took a changeup from Morgan Novak and stroked the home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Coyotes to leap in front, 5-3.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Goodwin said after the game.
