The Monongahela Monsters scored a 6-5 win versus the Hamilton Coyotes at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Monongahela left fielder Royce Foster nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Monongahela reliever Robert Erickson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Tony Rodríguez shouldered the loss. Wes Gilmore finished to wrap up his 6th save.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Foster delivered big-time for Monongahela, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Tony Rodríguez. The game-changing hit put the Monsters on top, 6-5.
"I felt good up there," said Foster. "I saw the ball well."
Today's win puts Monongahela at 28-22, while Hamilton falls to 20-30.
