Brass Score Late, Upend Flyers, 3-2
|
Pennsauken got a terrific performance from pitcher Dong-hua Hao, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baton Rouge Brass. Baton Rouge won the Brass Field contest, 3-2. Hao was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Baton Rouge reliever Travis Hayes picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Dale Hamilton was collared with the loss. Ryan Neal closed the door for Baton Rouge, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Alex Warner drove in one run for Baton Rouge. The 25-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Hermenegildo Beliago. It was his 23rd RBI of the season.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Warner.
The Brass sit in 4th place in the Silver AAA with a record of 24-19.
